Position Overview

The Assistant Director of People and Culture supports the Director of People and Culture in managing all P&C operations for the hotel, ensuring a positive and engaged workforce that delivers exceptional guest experiences. The role assists with employee relations, recruitment, performance management and compliance with all hotel policies and employment laws. The Assistant Director also helps leader the P&C team and serves as a trusted partner to department leaders across the property.

As an Assistant Director of People & Culture at the Beverly Hills Hotel, your compensation will be $110,000 annually

What you'll do

  • Serve as a primary resource for employee concerns, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Support programs that promote employee satisfaction, retention, and strong workplace culture.
  • Assist in conducting investigations and resolving employee relations issues.
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation processes that reflect the hotel’s culture and brand standards.
  • The Assistant Director of People & Culture supports the deployment and administration of recruitment strategies and processes for all  staff (exempt and non-exempt), collaborating with the People & Culture Manager ensuring timely staffing to support hotel operations.
  • Support performance management processes, providing coaching and guidance to supervisors. They also assist department heads and division heads to ensure processes are understood and followed (proper documentation, etc.). 
  • They coordinate rewards and recognition programs, including employee engagement days, employee and leader of the quarter, Diversity Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee meetings in partnership with the People and Culture team.
  • They ensure necessary legal postings are in view of all employees and implement and assists in monitoring employee relations programs (i.e., Drug Free Workplace Policy).
  • The Assistant Director of People & Culture also ensures strong leadership practices to ensure there is an individualized approach to motivation and recognition processes. They work with all departments on the development and utilization of incentive and other types of motivational programs. They support with analyzing and coordinating action plans as a result of employee engagement survey (departmental and total hotel)
  • They promote the DC brand at every opportunity and lead by example through the values of the company. They perform any other job related duties as required and requested.
  • Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. Our Assistant Director of People & Culture is relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct. 
  • Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our Assistant Director of People & Culture must communicate with other departments and extended hotel team in order to ensure the alignment remains.

What you'll bring

  • Communication is what keeps our department running perfectly. You have great communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.
  • Attention to detail is critical for this role
  • English is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated experience leading or supervising People functions or staff.  
  • Experience in the **hospitality industry** strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, relevant regulations and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingual preferred
