As an Associate Director of Catering at The Beverly Hills Hotel, your compensation will range $120,000-$125,000 annually

A day in the life of our Associate Director of Catering… it demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all of the tasks that our Associate Director of Catering accomplish would be lengthy but the list below is essential to know.


• Responsible for reaching personal sales goal, within Catering Department Budget.

 

• Client and Planner prospecting for new business.

 

• Consults in full service event planning and finalizes contracts, estimate sheets and diagrams, with clients according to Catering Sales Service Standards.

 

• Confirm payments, guarantees, set-ups and signed contracts and changes with clients.

 

• Maintain bookings in system to include enquiries, prospect, tentative and definitive bookings.

 

• Generate detailed banquet event orders according to contract.

 

• Review and inspect banquet rooms and displays with Banquet Manager for conformance to client needs.

 

• Directs workers in preparing banquet and conference rooms.

 

• Detail client data in Historical/Tracking Client Files.

 

• Conduct weekly Catering Meeting as needed.

 

• Participate to all Division meeting as needed.

 

• Fulfill scheduled Event Management Coverage Detail.

 

• Compute menu cost in event planning for in-house statistics.

 

• Assist in training and development of Catering and Conference Services Teams.

 

• Assist Director of Catering with planning and projects, as needed.

 

• Responsible for supervisory direction and coordination of Catering Events to include: Lateral event reporting responsibilities: Banquet Manager, Banquet Chef and Beverage Supervisor.

 

• These subordinates supervisors oversee a total of all employees in the Banquet, Beverage, and Culinary Departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods, to reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate office equipment. Stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist. Lift, carry, push, and/or pull light (10 lbs) to moderate amounts (up to 30 pounds) of weight; operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.

 

The items shared are essential. However, to ensure consistency, our Associate Director of Catering is provided with specifics on how we care for their department and our hotel.

• English is the primary language used in our hotel.  Our Associate Director of Catering must feel comfortable communicating in this language.   

 

• Attention to detail is critical for our this role.

• Our hotels operate nonstop, this require flexibility from everyone on the team.

 

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, with Catering Management background.  5-years Hotel Sales position in luxury World Class Hotel.  2-years technical and supervisory Banquet experience (or) equivalent combination of education and experience.
