What you'll do

You’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests:

  • You will be responsible for overseeing of the Uniform, Linen and Valet Operations to ensure our guests and colleagues receive nothing but the best experience.
  • You are responsible for the daily operation of the Valet Department and guide and develop a committed multicultural team to ensure the impeccable Dorchester standards are met in all areas.
  • Oversee the daily shift operations of the department to ensure all areas are covered and processes are followed.
  • Works with the external laundry provider to ensure the timely pickup and delivery of guest laundry, uniforms, rooms linen, spa, pool, gym and food & beverage linen.
  • Completes inspections of returned items to ensure they are cleaned correctly, no stains, damage and holds people accountable for corrective action.
  • Ensuring guest and colleague satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.
  • You’ll also participate in the management of the department’s controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals. Understand the impact of department’s operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
  • You will conduct inventories and are responsible to maintain all records for par levels, discards and losses.
  • You will prepare the monthly laundry reports and compare actual costs to budget/forecast.
  • Prepare orders for all operating equipment in the department, new uniforms and additional linen requirements.

  • You will guide, lead and motivate the laundry team with passion and commitment.
  • You will assist with all recruitment processes, departmental training and disciplinary procedures.

  • You will have strong leadership skills to be able to develop and guide a multicultural team to ensure exception standards and guest experiences.
  • As a detail orientated and hands on Team Player with strong interpersonal skills, you will be able to interact with all departments to ensure a cohesive working environment and to get things done.
  • You will be passionate, dynamic and guest focused who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of guest service and provide creative solutions to our guests.
  • You will be knowledgeable of PMS, payroll and purchasing systems and be computer literate.
  • You will be able to comprehend budgets, P&L statements, payroll and purchasing systems to assist in the financial management of the department.
  • Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. You have great communication skills with a strong guest service ethic.
  • English is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language.
  • You will have a least 3 years’ experience in a similar position in a luxury 5-star brand, with some pre-opening or major refurbishment experience. Middle East experience would be advantageous.
