What you'll do

You’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests:

  • You will be responsible for the Engineering Department’s administrative support and for the efficient communication with other hotel’s departments as well as with subcontractors and other business partners. Execute office administrative work and assist the Director of Engineering to organize the day to day meetings and planning the maintenance of the hotel facilities and all its equipment. Assist the engineering team for all administrative work to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
  • You’ll also perform general office duties to support the Engineering (e.g., filing, sending emails, typing, faxing, and copying). Prepare documents Promote awareness of brand image internally and externally. Coordinate with other departments, subcontractors and other business partners in order to respond to requests and resolve maintenance issues.

  • You will comply with the departmental/corporate SOP & LSOP. Will ensure implementation of Dorchester Collection Policies, Standards and Procedures in relation to Engineering fairly and consistently. Will be aware of all existing departmental job safety analysis and strive to work in an accident-free manner and to create a safe working environment for self and for others.

 The items shared are the essence of a day in the life of an Engineering Coordinator but we’ll make sure you are provided with specifics on how we care for our hotel.

What you'll bring

  • You’ll bring your unique personality and passion to the role and the team. University graduate, preferably with a major in English.
  • Three years' experience in administrative work.
  • At least two year's secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hotel experience in 5 Star luxury international brand is preferred. Pre-Opening experience is preferred.
  • You have a talent for Hands-on experience in all operational areas of departmental administration. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications operations and able to translate them. Experience in purchasing and inventory processes and systems. Human resource management skills e.g. recruitment, performance management. Ability to meet deadlines and to prioritize and organize work assignments in an environment with multiple interests. Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to represent the property in the community.
  • Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. You have great communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.
  • English is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language.
