Position Overview

As an employee, you are expected to provide our guests with a bespoke and memorable experience measured to the highest standards of food quality and service delivery. Additionally the execution of your position will be in accordance to our company policies, standards and procedures.

Maintains  kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties according to hotel standards of procedure.

Warewashing:

  • Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or in conveyor to dishwashing machine.
  • Washes pots, pans, kitchen tools and tray.
  • Cleaning
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen floors, banquet service areas and hallways.
  • Washes worktables, walls, kitchen hood ventilation panels, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
  • Steam cleans and/or hoses garbage cans, kitchen mats and all kitchen carts and Queen Marys.
  • Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers.
  • Distribution:
  • Stores food, supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
  • Transportation of kitchen/banquet food related equipment to/from event areas.
  • Proficient Operation of the following equipment:
  • Automatic conveyor dish machine.
  • Waste disposer.
  • Pre-rinse units.

Essential Functions & Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required

  • to stand
  • walk, crouch and/or sit long periods, to reach, push, pull and manipulate objects, tools or controls.
  • Lift, push or pull  up to 50 pounds.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Proficient English reading and conversational/technically related vocabulary. 
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. 
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences in clear English.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’ and 100’s. 
  • Ability to perform these functions in counting, compiling, and labeling banquet event equipment orders.

    REASONING ABILITY:
  • Strong team-minded leadership style and interpersonal staff relations. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
